Skilled Nursing News released an article last week about the new federal staffing requirements. Apparently “only 160, or 1%, out of a total of 14,500 facilities will meet the new requirements as of the summer quarter of 2023. This indicates that a substantial majority of nursing homes are not currently equipped to meet these new standards, highlighting the scale of the challenge ahead.”
It makes sense that nursing home owners are stressed about meeting these requirements… but at the same time, we, nursing homes CNAs, know what will help with retention rates – pay us livable wages and offer better healthcare and benefits!
To many of us it’s obvious what nursing home owners need to do… ask any CNA about retention rates and they will all say the same.
